Howdy.... Now what.....

I am new to this rooting of a smartphone. I thought it was a good idea the way everyone was talking. Now that I have rooted my phone, I am seeing others get bricked, locked up, infected....ect. Maybe I want to go back to the way it was. I asked a friend to convince me to keep it rooter, but he couldn't come up with any reasons that made sence to me.

Help.
