Switching to android from iOS

Hey everybody,
I have decided to switch to Android after about 4 1/2 year with an iPhone. I currently have had an iPhone 6S for almost a year and i'm over it. my previous phone was a 5c (that was exactly the same as my 6s!!!) I really love the idea of the customization of android phones. I'm looking to get a lg g5 as my replacement. I really want a solid phone that is new and will be updatable in the future. My carrier is At&t btw. Is this a good choice? Thanks!!!
