S7 Edge Bluetooth problem!

I cannot connect my S7 Edge via Bluetooth to my Sony car stereo! S7 Edge uses Bluetooth version 4.2 and my Sony stereo uses Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. 4.2 should be compatible with it from what I can gather. I found some info on the net that mentioned the S7 Edge having Bluetooth connectivity issues and said to try clearing the cache or failing that clearing the cache partition. I tried all of that and no luck! My S5 had no issues. What's happening? Why won't it work? Help?
