Turbo 2 encryption

So, I am a new to the Turbo 2, and I am thinking about encrypting the phone and SD card. From what I have read, once the SD card is encrypted, it cannot be undone, it has to be wiped, just like the phone, restored back to factory specs. My question(s), is there a program that you can download that will let you access your SD card if your phone crashes or cannot be restarted, or can you use an open market encryption, like something from Kaspersky or another company? And what kind of support...
