How can I add my computer to android messages for web without my phone?

I would like to use Android messages for web from my work computer but the problem is, I can't bring my phone to my desk to scan the QR code. Is there a way I can add that computer without scanning the QR code on my monitor. I've tried a couple of different ways to get the QR code to my phone including printing a screenshot, but they take too long and the QR code has reset before I can scan it. Any suggestions?

Note 9 SMS notification question.

Hi my parents have Note 9's on AT&T and recently have both started having an issue where the notifications for text messages will show a number 2 by the app and they only have one new message. It doesn't matter who is texting them it is happening for all texts. Once they check and read the text message it clears and shows no messages.

Any idea why this is happening and how they can fix it?

Oreo home screen display

My carrier finally upgraded me to Oreo yesterday. I have shortcutted (for years now) most of my apps to the home screen because I don't like how they're organized in the app drawer.

On Nougat, one home sceen "row" was 5 apps wide. With Oreo, it's only 4. Nothing in Settings > Display seems to help. If I can' change this back to 5-to-a-row, it will totally make my organizational OCD flare up big time

Can't save shortcut to homescreen using Dolphin

I have a Samsung S7, Android 8.0. Dolphin is my default browser. Previous to about May, 2018, I was able to save websites to the home screen using the 'Add to', 'Home screen' option, or long pressing the bookmark and 'Add shortcut to home'. Using those methods I would get the 'Added to home screen' message and the shortcut would be saved. The message no longer appears and no shortcut is saved to the Home screen. Salve a tutti. Ho comprato un S8 di seconda mano e dopo che il venditore e sparito mi sono reso conto che aveva google account bloccato e facendo ricerca ho scoperto che IMEI e sulla blacklist.

Insomma un bel pacco da quasi 400 euro

Contacts not syncing

Hi. I hope someone can help me. My contacts on my phone stopped syncing. No settings were changed. Rechecked all the sync Settings. I deleted my Google account on the phone then put it back in. My contacts then started to sync again. This lasted about 5 to 10 minutes then my contacts stopped syncing again. How do I permanently fix this without resetting my phone?

Enable banner notification for received e-mails?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ running Android 8.0.

I use the Samsung Email v5.0.x app.

When I'm using the phone, if I receive an e-mail, it doesn't appear from the top of the screen in a temporary banner-style notification.

I simply hear the audio notification, the icon appears in the notification bar and the notification appears in the notification tray.

Some other apps produce a banner notification (e.g. Messenger).

I don't see any options in App Notification settings.

Stock messages app showing incorrect (?) number on home screen notification dot/bubble

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 running Oreo and my question is I assume related to the new notification functionality that came in since the previous version. Everytime I receive a new SMS into the stock Samsung messages app, it shows 7 in the notifcication bubble/dot on the home screen, but I have only received/have 1 unread message. When I actually do have multiple unread messages, the number goes up disproportionately again. I can't get my head around it, can someone please explain.

So I've got a Galaxy S8, currently running Android 8.0.0 and Samsung Experience 9.0 (if at all relevant).

Since about two-three days ago, my phone has been automatically denying me access to writing on my Micro SD Card (128GB). I can't transfer any files from on-device storage to my Micro SD Card or modify its contents, as a read-only card should be.

Benchmarking Note 9 disappointing me

I am curious as to why when I run the benchmarking app anututu on the note 9 I consistently get approx 168000 but when I ran it previously on the note 8 got 203000. Do I maybe need to factory reset my note 9 and then rerun and gradually install apps and see what is causing the slow down ?

S7 - Orio - Volume when locked

Hi All
Just wondering if anyone knows how to turn down the volume in Orio when the phone is locked. In Nougat it used to be a matter of pressing the power button until the options came up then pressing the lower side buttons (at which point the volume display would appear) and it would reduce in volume upon each successive press of the button. I've played around with the phone and googled this but can't see a way of doing it in Oreo.

Android 9 update

Just update my pixel 2xl to android 9 "Pie".
Where the wi fi, mobile signal strength and battery icons were there is now screen burn of those icon. This due to the moving of the clock and other icons in the top notification bar, taking into account that the new pixels with have the notch.

Pixel 2 headphone dongle issue

Hey guys. When i connect my dongle with an aux cord or headphones my phone restart automatically. Google news not appearing in recent apps

Hi! So when I am using the Google news app it doesn't appear in the recent apps(aka multitasking). When I open it and then I close it it doesn't appear in recent apps as if I have never opened it. I mean if anyone has used Apple's newsstand app before it's the same thing. You can use the app but when you close it it doesn't appear in multitasking. Hey, everyone. I just bought the htc 10, but I noticed that the tweeter is somewhat weak, and some parts of some songs coming from it are barely heard over the lower speaker. Guys, My friend is gonna buy me a wearable tech this black friday and the one shortlisted is Samsung Gear Fit.

Debating between Huawei Mate 10, Sony XZ2 Premium, and the S9+

Hello, I'm relatively new to android after switching from Apple. I was debating between the following phones

-Huawei Mate 10
-Sony XZ2 or XZ2 Premium
-Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9+

A few things to know about what I like in a smartphone

-I like good cameras, the phone will be my only camera
-I do games a good bit on my phone

I use a pop3 email account on my Pixel 2 XL. This is with Virginmedia.

I set spam emails as spam on my email account through the Virginmedia web site and although they are no longer received they still come through to the phone.

Asus ZenPad Z10 Won't Update to Nougat

Had the Z10 for about a month and found out that the Nougat update is available. Everything on the tablet works great, but when I hit check for updates button it says "can't connect, sorry we had trouble checking for system updates.......". Verizon says check with Asus, Asus says use my computer and download "update assistant". My wife has a Z8 and hers updated over wifi with no problem. I've done a full reset and that didn't help. Heating

When you use it for more than an hour or even when you're play games it heats up.. because my device works flawlessly and I even get a full day of the use but when I play a game it does get hot and sometimes hotter than usual.

I am also experiencing some screen glitches whenever the phone goes over the top like when it's so hot you can't even touch it. When that happens i just power-cycle it and wait for it to cool down.

This is not an everyday thing, just happening once or twice a week.....

I have an Asus Zenpad S 8, the 32gb model, that came out in 2015. I got mine in November, and when I first got it, it was great. However, I had noticed it was getting laggy and glitchy after I finally got the Marshmallow update late last year. Honor 7 Problems

Honor 6a frozen screen

My mom's new honor 6a phone is frozen in the messenger screen. No button works. It doesn't ring if called.
When she gets home I'll try to force a reset, but it's the second time it happens in a few months. The clerk at a store told her it could be a problem with the sd card being too old or slow, could that be it? Thank you in advance.

Nokia 2018 version - 3GB or 4GB version ? Which one to choose ?

Hello. I am pretty much decided to select Nokia 6.1 (or Nokia 6 2018, as it is globally known). However, it comes in two versions - 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB.

Here in Pakistan, the 3GB version costs Rs.22,000 and the 4GB version is Rs.30,000. The difference is of 83 US dollars, but that's quite a lot for me.

My question is that I want to use this phone for at least 2 years. Will the 4GB version will be noticeably different ? Does it have significant difference in experience ? I will be buying...

Offline GPS on Tablet without wifi/data?

So I want to buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0" 32 GB and I want to use it as my gps in my truck without wifi or data. I know about the apps like Google Maps and others that allow you to download maps to your device and use it offline without data or wifi but will it work with this tablet? I can turn off data/wifi on my cell phone and still use Google Maps offline. I asked BestBuy and they said yes because it is GPS Enabled, but I called Samsung Support and the girl didn't seem to know much...

Best video app

Hi all,
The one thing that I like with Apple products is the handling of video files. It separates movies from TV shows and, with the tags, can even group the TV shows by season. Is there an app that will do this on Android? Free would me great, but I don't mind paying for the app if it does what I want.

System files on Nokia 6 (2018) after Oreo update (8.1) take up 12G... is that normal?

Hi,I bought a Nokia 6 (2018) today and was asked to update to Oreo 8.1. After the update, I now notice in Storage that the system files take up 12G of space. On my trusted Nexus 5X (which I could also update to 8.1), the system files only take up 6G. I think that's rather strange but what do I know. Anyone out here that can shine a light on this? Thanks.

I had x32 phone now i have x64.I have apks from old phone.
I can install apks (converted downloaded apps to apk using "ESFileExplorer") from old phone but, should I re-download all apps again for 64bit version?

Does every android phone get updated to the new version?

Does every Android phone get updated to the latest version of Android, ex Lollipop, now Oreo. And if so how does one go about doing it? I update my phone, I have a Samsung Galaxy J1 for now. Also If I wanted to update to the next Galaxy phone, which would be the best one. I only use apps on my phone for travel Waze, Gasbuddy and a few other things. Thanks for the help.

Suddenly battery drains insanely fast

I have tried to figure out what is wrong but no clue. I bought the phone new a few months ago and it has had great battery life. No new apps installed but now the battery goes down real fast. Don't k ow if there is some super capacity battery I should get.

Restoring Apps and Settings after Hard Reset

I have an HTC One M7. Last night I did a factory reset to speed things up. I backed up my apps and beforehand and attempted to restore them after the reset.

It looks like many apps have been restored, but not all. App settings seem to have been lost. It also seems that I may have lost access to the premium/pro version of apps for which I had paid for a higher level of functionality.

Bluetooth problems (again)

Hello,

I am aware that there are several threads treating bluetooth problems, but they don't really describe the problem I have.
I am listening to Spotify in my car by connecting the phone to the car (Audi MMI). I works well, it connected fine and every time I enter that car, the phone and the car automatically pair themselve.

Nexus 6p Battery Issue

once the battery goes below 50% phone shuts down due low battery
it s been happening at various percentages, as in sometimes at 50%
sometimes at 40% sometimes at less than that.
I did a full factory reset and it was fine for a while but now the problem is back
sometimes it dies at 10% some times at around the 40%-50% mark
Eitherway way the phone shuts down due low battery below 50%


Anyone else having the same issue?
Is it a hardware issue? should i just get the battery replaced?

I've got a Sony xperia M5, today i cleared cache, freed up about 2 GB of internal memory, and then after the next screen timeout it locked and stopped responding. Charging

Hi! So I was wondering if it is better to charge my phone (I am talking about fast charrging here Huawei super charge to be exact) but is it better to charge it to 100% but leave it at that state for another hour or two or charge it to like 90-95% and then unplug it. This is for when I need to leave and my phone is almost fully charged but I can't wait for it to charge fully and I have to either unplug or leave it at 100% for a few hours. So which is better?

OnePlus 3 update issue

Hey!
I recently switched from Oxygen Open Betas to Freedom OS everything works just fine..but now I would like to go back to Open Beta.
I tried to flash the ROM (OOB 30) via ADB and it didnt work, in command prompt it says "cannot read filename.zip".

I have updated/re-installed the drivers and tried different adb softwares aswell,still no luck!

Any suggestions?

My iPhone 6S is dying on me, and I want a new phone. Now I know that I will go from an expensive phone to a much cheaper, but I have come to that conclusion that I no longer want to buy expensive phones, because they hurt to much in my economic wallet
