Google news not appearing in recent apps

Hi! So when I am using the Google news app it doesn't appear in the recent apps(aka multitasking). When I open it and then I close it it doesn't appear in recent apps as if I have never opened it. I mean if anyone has used Apple's newsstand app before it's the same thing. You can use the app but when you close it it doesn't appear in multitasking. So you can't switch between it and other apps unless you open it from it's icon. Hopefully what I am saying makes sense. I am just wondering is...
