Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile

I have a Huawei Y350 phone.

When I want to switch from Wifi to mobile I need to tap the Wi-Fi button to turn it off and tap the
Data Switch (?) button to turn that on. (I'm referring to the buttons in the top panel along with Bluetooth, GPS and Auto-Rot).

However it seems I have to tap these dozens and dozens of times until they finally obey my bidding.

What am I doing wrong ?
