Guide to unlocking bootloader and rooting Motorola Droid MAXX 2?

So I was thinking of rooting my Motorola Droid MAXX 2 so I could lower the CPU frequency to lower the battery drain when using Drastic DS Emulator but I did not see a guide for a Motorola Droid MAXX 2 anywhere. Does a guide for this specific phone exist? If not could someone please provide me with a guide that would work with my particular phone? This my first time trying to do anything like this on an Android phone so I have no idea what to do first. Any answers are appreciated.
