Note 7 resolution at 720p improves battery life by how much?

I am very intrigued by the fact that the Note 7 is one of the first phones to implement native display resolution adjusting, intended to improve battery life.

How much improvement to battery life, if any, does reducing the 2K screen to 1080p or 720p achieve?

If it is substantial, this could a killer feature for me, as I place battery life as one of the most important metrics on my phone.

Current reviews on this only compared benchmark performance and those results showed no improvement...
