Are there any good file managers?

Can someone recommend a reasonably good file manager app? One of the main things I have found hampering my progress mastering my unfamiliar Android is the absence of decent file manager apps, compared to what I have been used to on another OS. All the ones I have tried are lacking in one or more of the following features:

1. the ability to even detect much less read, delete, move, copy files on external USB SD Cards & Flash Drives. Most handle the integral SD Card in the Tablet's slot, but...
