Anti-malware protection for Android KitKat 4.4

In today's MSN.com is a news story about malware targeting Android devices. Once inside, the malware waits for the victim to log into their bank or other financial institution. What are good Android Apps for protection? I have a cheapy NeuTab Tablet running Android KitKat 4.4. Thank you.
