LG G4 Backlight Will No Longer Go Beyond about 25%

Hi from Miami. I am a university adjunct professor whose unlocked 6 month old cell phone just developed a problem. I bought my LG G4 online from Amazon. It was a new unlocked international version that came without a guarantee. Today, the screen brightness dipped to roughly 25% of its normal maximum and nothing I did could get it any brighter. I tried re-setting it to the factory default but it continues to be so dim that it is only readable in the dark. Any suggestions would be welcome! ---...
