What Is the Average Lifespan of Samsung Tablets?

This is my first non-Mac device and while I know from experience Apple is solidly built and lasts an amazingly long time, I was a bit nervous about purchasing a Samsung Galaxy tablet. Can anyone give me a rough ballpark figure of how long these things last before there is noticable deterioration of performance? An estimated lifespan? Thanks!
