NAS drive access away from home for mobile and tablet

Hi all, I have been searching for a app that allows me to access my Netgear NAS drive away from home. The software that comes with the (Netgear ReadyNAS remote) is rubbish so I started searching the google play store. After installing many to find they either cant do it or they charge a monthly fee once your up and running I am at a loss. Does anyone know of any apps where I can get access to my NAS drive through a app to either stream or download movies/TV that does not have a monthly fee?
