Missing Images From Gallery

Hello,

I have an S7, and as the thread title says images are missing.

It seems that certain images that I have taken are missing from the gallery but are in my Google Photos.

I tried to do some research but most is pointing to if you have a file named ".nomedia" I do have this file but only in my whatsapp folder so images don't download to my gallery as i get work related crap that I don't want to save.

Does anyone know a way to get images to stay in my gallery.
