im scared!!

hello
a few of my more technical minded friends have been raving about downloading and using cyanogenmod
i must admit id only heard of this recently i love the thought of a totaly user based system BUT my galaxy s6 edge is brand new so is still under warranty ive done a bit of research and there is dire warnings of if you do this you void the warranty etc
i do like to tweak things on my past phones and pcs ...but i really dont want to risk this
am i right to wait by the way my s6 edge is...

im scared!!
