Messaging App Issues on the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+

I've had a couple issues with the Messaging app from Samsung.

1. I was not getting any notification alerts (tones, vibration, or on the actual notification bar). I found the cause and fixed it by doing the following.

Volume buttons not working in stock recovery. Nexus 5

So, this is the second time I've seen this on two separate Nexus 5 devices.

I am using the nexus toolkit to update a friends N5 to the latest version of android because for some reason his device is missing the option to update in the "about phone" menu (No idea why).

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Wont respond / Charge

Hello all,

Last night my phone worked just fine, I locked it and put it safely in my pocket, only to get it out 10 minutes later and the phone would not respond to anything at all. The screen just stays black no matter what I do and there is no lights or anything happening no matter what I try (tried the several combinations of buttons with volume down + home, volume down + power etc etc. , also charging the phone does not do anything at all).

Never-ending Loop

I have an LG G5 and was updating to get the new Marshmallow version. The looping icon is there but I can't reboot or restart my phone. Even if I remove the battery, the loop icon just shows up again as soon as I put back the battery. I think I should reset my phone now but am not sure how to do it correctly. Can someone help me?

Flashing carrier specific Nougat Firmware on unlocked S7 Edge.

I recently purchased the US unlocked model of the Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935U), and while i love the phone, i'm kinda annoyed by the fact that the carrier locked versions of S7 Edge haven't received the Nougat update, while the carrier locked versions already got the update.

I'm curious, Would it be possible for me to flash one of the firmware for the carrier models onto my phone without issues, or would it cause to many be problems to be worth it?

S7 edge Upgrade to Nougat question

Since I bought my Samsung 7 edge from online shop and it appears to be from China I can not wait no longer for an update to appear and decided to go ahead and do a manual update.

I found some link online how to do manual update which claims that upgrade would only work for G935F devices models. Could someone please explain to me if it would work on a China version SM-G9350? Background process question

There is a process running called "SVC Agent" (com.samsung.android.svcagent) and I've searched everywhere but found no information on it. If anyone has some info on whether its safe to disable or not then please let me know because if its beneficial for lets say battery optimization or is a critical function then I don't want to disable it. Struggling to format memory card as exFAT

I have a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70F (2015) tablet that runs Android 6.0.

I have a new 32 GB microSD card.

When I inserted the card into the tablet, Android asked me to format it, which I accepted.

When I connect the tablet to my Windows 10 PC and try to transfer 5 GB video files onto the memory card, it fails (no error message, just an error sound).

I presume it's because Android formatted the memory card as FAT32?

So I connected the memory card to my PC manually and formatted it to exFAT...

Better music controller FaceWidget for Galaxy S8?

I didn't see a subforum for the new Galaxy S8, so I'm posting here...

Just got the Galaxy S8, excellent phone. One thing I would love to have is a music controller FaceWidget that includes 10 or 30 sec FF/REW buttons like on the Google Play podcast notification widget (or on various other podcasting apps). All the existing FaceWidget offers is play/pause and previous/next track buttons. Does anyone know if there are custom FaceWidgets available anywhere?

Moto Z Bluetooth problem

Hi all.

Bluetooth keeps disconnecting from my Bluetooth speakers (JBL FLip 3 & Yamaha Soundbar). My other phone (Galaxy Alpha) works fine with them. It's choppy/cutting out even when placed right next to the speaker, sometimes mildly, sometimes so much I have to abandon it.

I am being blocked from using many of my apps. When I try to launch a popup says 'screen overlay detected' and there is a link to Settings to disable it so that relevant permissions can be granted. I then get just about every error I can think of, depending on which app it is:

tried to use google messages on galaxy s 7, the problem is that after a couple of messages the personalizes message tones revert back to the default message tones, any suggestions as to why?

Nougat update

I flashed my unlocked (previous Vodafone) LG G5 with the official OPEN firmware a week ago. Since then I have had a notification on LG BRIDGE to tell me that a new update (H85020a) is available but whenever I tried to complete the update, I get an error to say the update cannot be downloaded. I have tinkered with LGUP before so downloaded and tried flashing but came to the Error 0x20000 everytime. The update isn't available when I check for OTA.

App Promotion for PAID Apps

Hello everyone..

I have a PAID app on the Google Play store and am looking for some advice on how to promote it. I have seen a ton of messages of forums like this one that point me to different sites that offer install/review services but everyone of them are for free apps only. As soon as I enter my app information I get a message telling me I am out of luck, that they don't support paid apps.

Sound Problem with Note 5 after Nougat

I live in Thailand, my Note 5 received nougat on Friday 24th, since then I have had major sounds problems. Most notification sounds, s pen undock, alarm and ringtones and others disappear. This happens daily. A restart fixes the issue.

2 Factory resets, cleared cache , 2 resets at the Samsung customer service centre, but it happened again.

I even replaced my S Pen, which has been sticking a little, this didn.t fix it.



Has anyone else had this issue?

HELP !!!
My galaxy S4 fell about two days ago directly on the face and I damaged the lcd and the touch screen (so now totally black screen that is not responding any touches) ...

What I really want is to get my files ...

I searched for a solution and was told to factory reset it using the recovery mode (like learn the options location and times to press the volume buttons)

iPhone to S8 - app notification

Having had every single iPhone from the start I have recently switched to the S8. I like the way that the iPhone displays a red circle with number for notifications on that particular app.

Only a third of my pictures show up on my PC

Hi, I have a Mot X Style/Pure. I am trying to move my pictures to my PC. After choosing "USB for file transfer/photos" only a few pictures show up.
For example:
I have about 800 pictures in my "Camera" folder. Only shows up 200.

I also have multiple picture folders, but only 5 show up instead of all my 19 folders...

Any tips?

4K Videos not playing on Android TV

Hey just got an LG G5 and want to see what my videos look like on the big screen. They seem to be mp4 files but my tv won't play them in any player.

Never had a problem playing my note 3 4k files or any other.

Screen Overlay detached turn off to allow permissions

Can some one please help me I'm about to go nuts with this issue! All was fine on my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5 until I got a 300mb software update a couple of days ago. So Xperia Z5 or Xperia Z5 Premium

I know the phones are yet to be reviewed but which one should I lean towards to. In my country if you preorder one you get free 100e headphones for free, so Im considering preordering one of the two. I like the idea of bigger screen on Z5 Premium and would definitely buy that but Im concerned about the performance and battery life. Apps will not work ---- Permission and Overlay problems

For a couple of months many of my apps have become unavailable because I am unable to set the Permissions required. I get a popup saying 'overlay detected --- turn it off to set Permissions'. Often a link is provided to the relevant page in Settings. But I have tried everything I can think of ----switches on / off, one app / all apps together, and in some cases switches do or do not respond, or if they do, permissions still will not take effect..

SD Memory Card won't mount on Galaxy Tab A

I recently bought a Tab A on sale at WalMart. The salesperson insisted she was the electronics expert but knew little more than ringing up the purchase. I am wanting to read/playback a PowerPoint file that I created and stored on a 10GB Sandisk SD card from my desktop (using a USB adapter - which was successful so the card has to formatted correctly). When I put the SD in the Tab A, all I get from the software (Apps, Storage) is Mount the SD card msg. - which I click on and nothing happens....

While charging my V20 will shut-off

Sometimes if I leave my phone charging on my nightstand at night it will shut-off and I have to enter my PIN in order to turn the phone back on. It does not seem to affect the functionality of the phone, but it is annoying since it is my alarm clock!

Any others experiencing a similar issue or know how to resolve it?

Apps Crashing, or stopping or worse.

I have a Moto E 1st gen with Android kitkat 4.4.4. Lately I have been having a lot of apps stopping and crashing, and some keep disappearing! I've cleared the cache, I've uninstalled and re-installed apps, I've rebooted the phone. And all the music files I download keep disappearing. Is it the SD card maybe?

slow download in play store of xiomi mi redmi 3s miui 8.1.1

xiomi redmi 3s has some problem.when i download any file from play store over wifi which is larger in size than 50 mb then the peak speed of my internet gets slow approx. it gets 5 to 8mbps only but my actual speed is approx.20mbps and when file size is less than 50mb then it use full speed which is approx.20mbps. it can only happen in downloading form play store i did all the things but it would neve improved.

Request for latest firmware for A5 2016

Hello,

I tried to flash an official firmware using odin but the odin mode said SW Rev Failed : Version : 4, Binary : 3. I need a latest official firmware for Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) for INS (India). recently a new problem started to appear in my htc one m8, which is the mobile didn`t connect and transfer the voice call to the car bluetooth.

How To Fix Custom Binary Blocked On A Samsung Galaxy Core Prime?

Every time I try to turn on my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime in the top left corner it says "Custom Binary Blocked by Reactivation Lock. SECURE FAIL: KERNEL." I have no idea why/what this is or how to fix it as I'm not very tech savy and so I really need help lol. Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Flashing carrier specific Nougat Firmware on unlocked S7 Edge.

I recently purchased the US unlocked model of the Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935U), and while i love the phone, i'm kinda annoyed by the fact that the carrier locked versions of S7 Edge haven't received the Nougat update, while the carrier locked versions already got the update.

I'm curious, Would it be possible for me to flash one of the firmware for the carrier models onto my phone without issues, or would it cause to many be problems to be worth it?

Hi All,

Im new to this. I have a T mobile S6 Edge plus. I want to restore/format my phone like i got it on the first day but without the t mobile apps in it.

I see the Nougat firmware is out for the G928C variant but not for the G928T which i have. I was wondering if i can install that on my phone, and what would be the consequences?

Also what does stock firmware mean for my phone? Is it the one that T mobile pushes out?

On my Samsung Note 4, I have somehow set it up so when I hold the Home button down, the Google App automatically starts listening for my voice commands, and doesn't need the "OK Google" prompt.

S7 G930U and G935U Security Updates and Nougat 7.0.1

Looking for some kind of a real answer why these two carrier unlocked devices are not receiving timely updates like the rest of the S7's of the world. Not only lacking Nougat 7.0.1 but regular monthly patches like everyone else is getting.

Honor 7 location vs WiFi

I've bought an Honor 7 device (with EMUI 4.0.1 by Huawe, based on Android 6.0 installed on it, currently software build PLK-L01C432B380) almost 4 months ago now and have been working with it since. Problems with Magnetic Case Covers

I've recent read that allot of people have been experiencing problems while using cases with magnetic covers on their mobile devices.
