Getting around AT&T

Really enjoying my s6 edge plus..as its a refurbished model originally an AT&T device everytime I check for software update it says checking AT&T severs..I'm not with AT&T as I'm in the UK is there anywhere around this..I've disabled all the AT&T apps can't Uninstall them
The device itself works like a dream just wondering if I can bypass AT&T to download software updates
