google messages

tried to use google messages on galaxy s 7, the problem is that after a couple of messages the personalizes message tones revert back to the default message tones, any suggestions as to why?
Also in google pictures facial reconignation doesn't work as supposed to doesn't reconigse pictures sometimes does. Must be doing something wrong have followed the suggestions found but nothing seems to work.
