Adaptive fast charging VS. regular charging?

Hello. Like the title says I have a question about charging values. I have a S6 Edge Plus. Works great. No complaints.

I have my old oem S5 charger and my new S6 edge plus adaptive fast charger. I don't understand the numbers when testing with my usb digital readout tool. I get 5v 1.7amps when charging with the S5 charger and 9v 1.5amps with the charger that came with my phone. I'm not sure how a lower amp draw is supposed to be a faster charge since more amps normally means faster...
