Marshmallow update caused app default

The new update marshmallow has caused default problems with applications. One example is when I would send a text message I would hit the attachment which is the paperclip symbol I used to be able to see the gallery and a mix of other applications to find what I'm trying to add to my text message. When I touch the Galaxy icon it used to show a number of different choices with in the picture mode, Now it only lets me choose one and it makes it a default. What happened? How can I possibly get...
