screen stays on after lollipop update

Maybe one of you can help on this issue. I updated my s5 to T-Mobile's lollipop last night. Its great so far but there is one bothersome issue, the screen turns on and stays on after I get a notification, especially a text message (Textra app) . ive messed around with the notifications and screen settings and I still haven't solved the issue ... Any suggestions or ideas ?
