I'm on HSPA but desperately need LTE. Please read on.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 smg901f unlocked international version. On the box it states LTE capable. I live in an LTE capable area, however, since day one that I have had the phone and I didn't know better it runs on the HSPA+ not LTE which is the plan from MetroPCS that I have been on for 5 years already. Why can I not get LTE or 4G? We have troubleshooted and changed the APN to a few different ones and the network says it's on LTE / CDMA / GSM but I still see the H. I have spent countless...
