Samsung S Phones Turnoff "Animation" or The Screen?

You know when you shut off your screen to your Samaung phone and the screen seems to turn off by "closing in?" Is that a turn off animation or is that just how the Super AMOLED screen looks when it turns off? Either way it looks cool.
