Hoping for advice

After being given an HTC one and really liking it, I bought my husband a htc 10 lifestyle, which is also very nice. However - his computer cannot download a driver for it, whereas mine recognises it immediately. both windows 10 machines. Have done alsorts and been everywhere, but to no avail.
Hope I can help others with this problem as it seems to be a problem for others too.
