Rooting LG Phones

I've never rooted a phone, but would like to learn how to do so. One of the things that I would like to do is uninstall certain system apps that I never use, such as the many Google apps (Google Movie, Google Music, etc.).
I have an LG Model: LGL52VL
Can anyone help me?
