Android.process.media has stopped unfortunately!

Iam using lg g3 and since few days I am getting error which says unfortunately Android.process.media has stopped.. It pops up after every 2 seconds.. I cannot even open my settings.. I have a lot of data in my internal memory and now I am left with no option to copy that.. Can someone tell me what should I do?
If I format my phone will it help me?
And if I format my phone is there anyway I could recover my data?
I am in real need of perfect suggestions.. Please respond to this thread!
