Nexus 6P Stuck

Recently updated to the new OS, and the phone has worked well. However, today it is stuck in the screen after the "Google" appears where you have the four circles and all rotating concentric rings. Tried a "Clear Cache" and think I did it correctly, but that didn't help. Before I do a hard reset does anyone have a suggestion?

If I DO have to hard reset, is there a way to retrieve my app list from wherever that lives in the cloud?
