No screen overlay...hooray

Hi
I've now had my Note for a week now wonderful device am loving it
The thing I've noticed is although I've exactly the same apps running as I had on my s7 edge (rip)!
I've no screen overlay warning when I give permissions
It's running the exact same Android OS
I'm not complaining . ..but I'm wondering why?
A friend has the s6 edge and doesn't get it either
Yet someone else has the s7 edge and again gets the screen overlay yet another has the s7 no overlay
Was it just a s7 edge...
