Microphone doesn't work in calls when State Farm Drive Safe & Save app is installed

Howdy! My girlfriend has been trying to use this State Farm app to get a discount on her insurance, but when it's installed, she cannot use the phone's microphone for phone calls. Only the speakerphone works.

When she uninstalls the app, her microphone works, so it's definitely something to do with the app and/or the bluetooth connection between her phone and the little device she leaves in her car.

Have you guys heard of this before? And is there anything we can do to solve the problem...
