Issue accessing new photos within DCIM folder

I have an HTC One M9 using Android version 6.0. I'm having an issue locating and transferring recent photos to my laptop.

I have photos going back to Sept 2014 (transferred from an old phone) all the way to the present. All of them can be viewed fine within the gallery and be uploaded to FB or sent via WhatsApp etc without any problems.
