Help

I'm new to rooting and installing custom ROMs. I recently bought the g3 as a side phone to experiment on. I installed the zip file but i got different responses from twrp. One was zip is corrupt. I reinstalled it and it seemed fine after. Then i got error executing updater binary in zip. Ive had many problems over the past 24 hours. I cant seem to install the rom at all or an rom as the zip files just wont work. Please help!?
