4 GB for the nearest future...

Is it important to invest into higher ammount of Random Access Memory, for the phone which should serve me in the next years? I mean, 4 GB of RAM is pretty enough for the moment, but what will be in the next 2 years, or 3? I though that it's more important to aim into processor or battery time, but now I am pretty confused.
