S6 edge stuck at 28% updating, can't reboot because it just goes back to update

I can't seem to find this problem anywhere on this forum or anywhere else online, primarily because the solution for similar problems seems to be to reboot the phone from safe mode by pressing the power and volume down buttons then switching to volume up, home and power buttons... the problem is that the phone was already freezing and acting weird , rebooting etc before the update... so we put it into safemode and wiped the cache partition...

this did not work because it seemed to freeze...
