Dealing with bloatware

I'm an aging retired guy but still fairly tech savy, although I admit I am new to smart phones. I now have a Samsung S5, only recently upgraded from an ancient flip phone.

I am unhappy about bloatware on my phone that I cannot delete. Some of this stuff is coming from my carrier (Verizon) and some from Samsung. The phone came with a ton of Google apps too but at least I'm given permission to delete those as I see fit. I can always add them again. If and when I ever want to use them.
