Locking up while charging, gets somewhat hot

Recently and randomly my Honor 8 has been locking up during charging. The phone indicator light showing the green for full charge works. I can remove and insert the plug and it comes on and off but nothing else works, just a black screen. I hold and reset the phone for it to work again.

The phone is fairly warm when I find it after these situations but nothing to hot to touch.

I'd appreciate any thoughts, ideas or solutions. I've read about some of the overheating issues but do...
