Rooted Boost Mobile LG Tribute 5 using Verizon prepaid sim

I've acquired an LG Tribute 5 that I believe came from Boost Mobile and I've rooted it. My carrier is Verizon prepaid and I have a SIM card from said carrier. My problem is when the SIM card is inserted it just says invalid SIM. Anybody that can help me find a way around this would be greatly appreciated!
