1st generation Google Pixel still worth it?

Hey guys, so I found a new Google pixel of local classifieds for $600 AUD. The person claims that they were gifted it but have no use. The box has been opened.

I got them down to $550 AUD, but I was wondering if I should buy the pixel or just wait a bit longer and get a better phone? I'd like it to last at least 1-1.5 years. All answers and input is appreciated. My current phone is a nexus 5x so that's what I'll be comparing the pixel to. I comepletley shattered my 5x screen, and it runs...
