Xperia X suddenly doesn’t detect Bose Headphones (but other headphones work)

I've been using a pair of Bose headphones ever since I got my Xperia X without any hassle. Then one day the phone just wouldn't recognize the headphones.

My Xperia X does detect other headphones, though, so I figured the Bose pair was broken (they have a lot of wear and tear). But they work just fine when plugged into my computer! So there's no mechanical interference involved.

Any idea what to make of this? Very grateful for input!
