Decisions Decisions....Pixel 2 XL vs Galaxy Note 8

Hey All -

So I have both devices with me and both return periods are about to expire - I'm completely new to android and will be staying in this world vs. iOS where I was over the past 10 years.

Any thoughts on helping me decide which model to keep?

It appears the Pixel 2 boot loader is unlocked and seems like Google is friendly to rooting if I ever went down that road. Samsung apparently is locked, and has some sort of Knox flag if you try to root which to my understanding isn't...
