Broken Screen

So since December of 2016 i have had a massive black "L" on my screen in the bottom left hand corner because I hit it with a 45lb plate while working out. I dont have insurance on it and i dont have the money to replace it. So i want to know if there is a way to scale the displayed screen down to where the broken part of then doesnt cover the screen where it actually works. Anything is much appreciated!
