screen mirroring issue on S8 plus

my s8 plus has the smartscreen icon. I tap to mirror my screen. It recognizes my chromecast but just hangs there saying "connecting". I downloaded the google home app and it also notices my chromecast but quickly says "disconnect" when I tap it. The phone works well when casting from my youtube or Netflix app. Any suggestions? Thanks.
