Is xiaomi mi a1 worth buying?

I was thinking on buying a xiaomi mi a1, but i fear that about 1 year after buying it, it will appear black bars in the bottom and top of the display because of the newer smartphones whit 18:9 displays. So i wonder if is worth buying or wait until releases a good smartphone with a 18:9 displays around this price tag (sorry if there is some bad english in the text).
