Pixel 2 XL purchase question

I am currently a Verizon customer looking to upgrade to a new Pixel 2 XL. I plan to purchase from the Google store instead of from a Verizon store. But I also plan to stay on Verizon's network. So here is my question. When I order my Pixel 2 XL from Google, should I go with the "UNLOCKED" option?...or should I go with the "VERIZON" option? - or does it matter? I've always bought my phones from the carrier's store so ordering direct from Google is new to me. Just need some advice on...
