LG V20 Screen brightness uneven and fading from upper right to bottom left

Hi- I took my phone out of my pocket one day and the screen brightness was suddenly uneven across my phone. No visible water damage. It is brightest in the upper right hand corner and fades across the screen being darkest at the bottom left corner. I can barely read the screen without having the brightness at 100% all the time. I am not sure if this is a backlight issue or even how to fix it.

Has anyone had issues like this or know how to fix it?
