LG V20 issues with text messaging app showing Silenced

Hey everyone, I have owned my LG V20 about 5 months now, last month I have been having issues with text messaging app not giving me a sound notification. I went into settings and it shows sound is on for this app. But when I goto Apps under Sound and Notification - then Apps- I scroll down to text message App and it shows Silenced under it. Has anyone had this issue and can anyone help?
