High pitched ringing recorded/ heard when using headphones

When using headphones with my Oneplus 3T, recordings have a high pitched ring when played back and when in a phone/ skype call the other person can hear the ringing. However, I am only able to hear the ringing when the audio is played back.

Initially, I thought it was an issue with the headphone mic, but I tried another pair and it still happened. Also, the ringing happens on phone calls, facebook messenger, skype etc, but when I recorded a video on snapchat there was no ringing sound....
