huawei p9 second camera

So I've been testing out the P9 and when I take a photo, then take the same photo but put my finger on the monochrome camera (the right one) the pictures look exactly the same. So is it actually taking pictures with both cameras or is the second one ONLY for taking monochrome?
In monochrome when I put my finger on the right camera I can see that it is covered, but in normal mode this does nothing.

So what gives?
