Samsung S4 battery issue/file access

So the story goes

I got my S4 in the UK on contract from a store without insurance, I paid off the 24 month contract, never dropped my phone and all was great.

I have brought the phone over to Australia with me where I noticed the charging port became poor to the point i had to wiggle the charging cable to get any charge. Then one day it stopped working completely and had to invest in an external charger.

The phone still won't turn on, but i am wondering how I could access my contacts,...
