HTC One M8 problems since upgrade to Marshmallow

Since I upgraded to Marshmallow my HTC One M8 bluetooth connection to my car (Honda Accord) no longer works. It sees it but refuses to connect and comes back with an error/retry.
I've phoned HTC who say they are aware of the problem but do not have a solution and all I can do is wait for another software update. I can connect to other bluetooth devices but not the car.
I've had a few other issues which I've managed to sort out but this one means I can no longer use my phone in the car...
